2008 Roy Estate Proprietary Red

Estate: Roy Estate
Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Vineyard: Roy Estate Vineyard

Tasting Note:March 09, 2017

Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Thick but slightly aged nose with dark stewed berries, plums, damp earthiness, truffles, a touch savory and dark gravel in the finish. With some air it gained some darker fruits like black currants. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Still packs a punch on the palate with layers of dark cocoa, dark red and black currants, black cherries with great structure and acidity. Long and lingering finish. Decanted for two hours and it could have easily used more.
