2014 Sonoma-Cutrer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

Estate: Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards

Region: Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, North Coast, California, United States of America

Tasting Note:November 13, 2017

Light golden crisp in color. If you are looking for something with a bit of weight, this Chardonay does that with presenting oaky characteristics. Not overly buttery on the nose but oaky. A bit of earthy winter farmland nose like hay, fresh air and wet grass. Medium acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Lots going on with the palate that is very different than the nose but perfect for seafood or pasta dishes. Notes of fresh lychees, orange zest on the palate with a wet gravel mouthfeel. Medium to medium plus finish with tart fruits and the minerality comes through here.

Made up of 100% Chardonnay and aged for 8 months in oak and goes through malolactic fermintation (giving it that creaminess). What I love about Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards is their website. On this link they post all their nutrituional information by the glass. Check it out!
