2004 Piedra Hill (W. H. Smith) Cabernet Sauvignon
Second time trying out this wine. Definitely seems like a wine that is 20 years old not 12. Slightly cloudy in appearance and garnet red with bricking on the edges. Lots of vegetal notes on the nose accompanied with aged dark berries. Aged as in they seem a little tired and worn out. Soft berries on the palate with moderate tannins (5/10). Body is definitely thinning out, light plus at the most. Slightly sour with a moderate finish.

$$ - $32.99.Garnet red with some bricking starting on the edges. Lots of black pepper and meaty upon opening on the nose with a bit of herbs like oregano. Love the savory part of the nose. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and moderate body. Savory and vegetal attack, light cassis and plums over the midpalate and through the moderate finish. Definitely nearing the end of its life, turns a little sweet at the end.
