2014 Flora Springs Ghost Winery Malbec
Deep ruby red with a purplish hue. Love the complexity and layers of the nose and palate of this bottling. Nose started with some herbal notes, perfumey, a little savory, some baking spices and light dark berries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Started off with some dark fruits then more savory with baking spices like vanilla and cinnamon as well as some woody notes. Long and thick finish.
Made up of 100% Malbec from two single blocks on the Komes Ranch in Rutherford. Aged for 22 months in a mix of French and American oak of which 25% are new. Label is similar to the original labels of Flora Springs.

Elegant palate that was rather perfumey, soft dark fruits, plums, light cassis and dark cocoa. Short to moderate finish.
