Last wine at King Family Vineyards. Deep and dark ruby red that coats the glass. Complex nose with figs, dates, brandy and a savory undertone. Palate is coated in dark cocoa, dark dried berries and an odd finish of dry bark. Furry and dry texture. Seemed a bit lighter than we would have expected for a port styled wine made out of 100% Petit Verdot. Semi dry and long finish. Lots of dark cocoa in the finish too.
Port styled wine made out of 100% Petit Verdot, added alcohol is from a Brandy produced on the estate made of 100% Cabernet Franc. Aged for two years in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. Only 506 cases produced.
