2004 Pax Syrah Cuvée Christine
Region: Sonoma County, California, United States of America
Deep garnet red. Very rustic nose with lots of minerality and stones interwined with black olives and black tea. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. The olive component continued on the palate with a light meaty note and some light cherries. Finish is similar to when we tried it earlier this year, moderate and starts to thin out.
Made of 100% Syrah and aged in mostly new French oak for 17 months.

Very light notes of cinnamon, caramel and baking spices. Smokey. Lots of wood, chalk and black olives. Very earthy and green tastes. Woody, white pepper, olives and undertones of red fruit. Nice and savory in the attack. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and moderate body. Slightly dry in the finish. Moderate but thins out. Very well integrated and well balanced. Very smooth and a little light.
