2002 Villiera Monro
Region: Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South Africa
Tasting Note:January 1, 2016
Brick red slight brown edges. Nose had notes of dark spices like cinnamon. Slight vegetal undertones of green bell peppers and asparagus. Chalky in the finish. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and moderate body. A little short of moderate in the finish. A little tangy from the red cherries then dry in the finish. Very nice enjoyable Bordeaux blend.
Blend of 63% Merlot and 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in mostly new French oak for 2 years.
