2018 Boich Family Cellar Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard
Tasting Note:February 9, 2022
Bright greenish yellow with a slight golden hue. A bit tight on the nose with a little bit of stone fruit showing through with freshly crushed gravel. Medium to medium plus acidity (5.5/10) with a medium plus body. Overall palate was clean, almost medicinal clean with some light steel nuances. Not overly buttery at all with 1/3 new French oak being used as well as a tangy mouthfeel and a bit of stone fruits. Long and lingering finish.
Finally back in Napa Valley after three years and what a great place to start off your tastings at, Boich Family Cellars. Up first was their 2018 Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay.
