2011 Sea Smoke Sea Spray Blanc de Noirs

Tasting Note:June 12, 2018

Medium to deep golden yellow with tons of tiny bubbles. Layered nose with hay, yeast, candied apples and reduced honey. Medium acidity (6.5/10) and light plus body. Tangy acidity on the attack with citrus zest, Granny Smith apples and a bit of minerality on the backend. Medium length finish.


First bottle of Sea Smoke for us, and we did not know that they made a sparkling wine. This bottling is made up of 100% Pinot Noir from the Sea Smoke Estate Vineyard in Santa Rita Hills. Aged for six months, sur lie, in used French oak barrels prior to an additional sixteen months in bottle prior to disgorgement.
