2014 Domaine Saint-Damien Gigondas Les Souteyrades

Medium ruby red with garnet edges. Elegant and layered nose with lavender, olives, strawberries and graphite. Medium tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Fresh acidity. Balanced palate with floral notes, white pepper, raspberries, strawberries, minerality and a touch of leather. Long and dry finish.
Made up of 80% Grenache (planted in 1948) and 20% Mourvèdre (planted in 1977). Vinification lasts 6-8 weeks in concrete vats prior to aging for 12 months in oak barrels. Excellent value.
