2016 Hartenberg Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Riesling

Tasting Note:September 29, 2018

Light to medium greenish yellow. Quite a bit of candle wax on the nose with some mute candied pears. Medium acidity (6/10) with a light plus body. A bit tangy on the attack of the palate with some stone and tree fruits, followed by some minerality and a hint of sweetness. Medium plus finish.


First wine in the VIP tasting lounge during the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and first still white wine. This is made up of 100% Riesling by Carl Schultz from Stellenbosch. Aged for a total of seven months eight year old barriques. Only 128 cases produced with 40 being auctioned in 2018.
