Tasting Note:October 20, 2018

Dark purplish ruby red. Rich nose with anise, graphite, dark cherries, cassis, cinnamon and some gravel. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Dark palate with black currants, gravel, baking spices, black cherries and licorice. Long finish.


This is made out of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 10% Malbec by Celia Welch. Aged in 58% new French oak for 20 months and only 200 cases produced.

Tasting Note:June 2, 2018

Deep purplish ruby red. A bit tight and dark on the nose with graphite, black cherries, leather, cassis and cocoa. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Voluptous mouthfeel on the palate with layers of black fruits, some cigar leaves, leather, spice box and a touch of minerality. Long and lingering finish.


Third winery on our sixth day in Napa Valley is Yount Ridge Cellars which is a new one to us located in Oakville. The second wine is their inaugural vintage of their Proprietary Blend from the Yount Ridge Vineyard in Oakville and made by Celia Welch from Scarecrow and more fame.
