First of the blind reds for this quarter's S&E Wine Club. Theme was Chardonnays for white wine and red wines you can purchase at grocery stores.
Dark ruby red. Quite smoky on the nose with dark red berries. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Layered palate with sweet spices, anise, lots of pepper on the attack, woody, red berries and a touch of black cherries. Medium length finish.
Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels.
