2015 Cape Venture Wine Lubanzi Red Rhone Blend

Estate: Cape Venture Wine

Region: Coastal Region, South Africa

Tasting Note:March 12, 2017

Medium to light ruby red. A little tight to start on the nose with some cinnamon, red berries, a little floral and a touch savory. Moderate tannins (5/10) and medium bodied. Tight berries on the palate and a bit dark too. Spiced herbs and a little perfumey, a touch green too with olives. Some dried berries and metallic notes in the medium length finish. Decent structure. Great value at only $14.99 and good intro to an affordable South African Rhone Blend in the States.

This is the inaugural vintage of the Lubanzi Red Rhone Blend. Cape Venture Wine is a socially conscious start-up that donated 50% of all profits back to the South African vineyard laborers.
