2014 Boich Family Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Select
Region: Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Tasting Note:February 06, 2017
Dark ruby red. Floral attack with dried black cherries, red mountain berries and baking spices on the nose. As it opened up there was a stronger aroma of cinnamon, vanilla and spiced herbs. Heavy tannins (8.5/10) with tons of structure. Great backbone with a slight dustiness on the palate. Lots of dried dark berries on the palate. Full bodied with a slightly dry long finish. This can easily last 20+ years.
From an undisclosed vineyard on Howell Mountain. All made from the Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 20 months in 70% new French oak. Only 220 cases produced. One of our favorites this trip.
