2015 Craven Syrah Faure Vineyard

Eighth red in our South African blind tasting. First wine from Craven we have tried and this is definitely a cool climate Syrah. Dark ruby red. Light and floral on the nose with some raspberries, rhubarb and light savory herbs. Medium tannins but hidden by the acidity (6/10). Needed some air to calm down the acidity. Medium body with lots of red berries, especially raspberries. Dry and medium plus bodied.
Made up of 100% cool climate Syrah from the Faure Vineyard in Stellenbosch. 100% whole bunch fermented before being aged for around 12 months in old barrels.

2018 till 2025.
