2014 Rudius Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard
Deep ruby red. Took a little bit of time to fully open up. Tons of layers on the nose with purple flowers, perfumes, red cherries and darker ones. Additional notes of coal, dried herbs, a little dusty and a bit of iron too. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Beautiful Mourvèdre with tons of true Rhône characteristics. Very floral, savory notes, iron, red cherries and earthy notes. Long and dry finish. Delicious wine and an exceptional effort by Jeff Ames.
