2004 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red

Estate: Pahlmeyer Estate

Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America

Tasting Note:August 04, 2016

Garnet red with a deep and dark core. Lots of sediment. Tight nose, with some dark plums and some green twigs. Smooth palate with lots of soft dark fruits. Moderate and well integrated tannins (6/10). Full bodied and still has some power in it. Some vanilla and baking spices especially near the long finish. Seems to be getting a bit tired. From what we have heard this should go for a few more years but nonetheless drink by 2017 for the power.

This Proprietary Blend is the flagship bottling at Pahlmeyer with 5,840 cases produced. This specific vintage has fruit from the Pahlmeyer Waters Ranch, Stagecoach and Rancho Chimiles vineyards.
