2015 Hartenberg Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Shiraz

Dark purplish ruby red. A bit savory and smoked on the attack of the nose with some juicy dark berries. Medium plus tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Lots of weight on this wine with dark red and black berries, dried herbs and dark spices. Dry and long finish.
Twenty-eighth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the seventeenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Shiraz by Carl Schultz with fruit from both the Gravel Hill and The Stock bottlings from the Stellenbosch region. Aged for twenty months in 35% new French oak barriques. Only 136 cases produced with 48 being auctioned in 2018.
