2014 Grangehurst Cape Winemakers Guild Auction Blend

Dark ruby red in appearance. A touch of greenery on the nose, almost bell pepper with some chalkiness, dark berries and spices. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Good amount of structure on the palate with spiced berries, earth, spices and minerality. Long finish.


Eighteenth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the seventh red wine. This is made up of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Petit Verdot and 9% Merlot by Jeremy Walker from the Stellenbosch region. Aged for a total of 28 months in both French (80%) and American (20%) oak prior to bottling. Only 141 cases produced with 36 being auctioned in 2018 and 54 auctioned in 2017.
