2016 Rijk's Cape Winemakers Guild Chenin Blanc

Tasting Note:September 29, 2018

Medium greenish yellow. Clean attack on the nose with a touch of creaminess, some tropical and stone fruits, as well as a little nutty. Dry medium acidity (5.5) and light bodied. Lots of green apples on the palate with some pears and apricots. Medium plus finish.


Sixth wine in the VIP tasting lounge during the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction and third still white wine. This is made up of 100% Chenin Blanc by Pierre Wahl from Stellenbosch. Aged for a total of 16 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Only 65 cases produced with 46 being auctioned in 2018.
