Producer: Tuck Beckstoffer Wines

Region: Napa Valley, North Coast, California, United States of America

Tasting Note:May 29, 2018

Deep purplish ruby red. Lush and rich nose with dark black fruits, dark cocoa, licorice, tobacco and some twigs. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Gripy start on the palate that smoothes out becoming plush and well rounded. Complex layers of dark plums, baking spices, cinnamon, black fruits, dark red berries, cigar box and a touch of bark. Long and lingering finish.

Second winery on our third day in Napa Valley is Tuck Beckstoffer Wines located at the old Dancing Hares property in St. Helena and hosted by Jessica. Second wine was their Tuck Beckstoffer Amulet from the Dancing Hare Vineyard aka Estate Vineyard in Saint Helena, some fruit from Howell Mountain and Oakville. Made by Andy Erickson and consultant, Philippe Melka. Made up of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc and 14% Petit Verdot. Aged for 24 months in around 80% new French oak barrels and has 15.1% Alc/Vol. Only 475 cases produced. Label is very interesting and is a Cabernet Sauvignon grape cut in half like a tree trunk.
