2014 Marianne Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep ruby red with lighter edges. Lovely nose with notes of baking spices, dark berries, black currants, and some gravel. Medium tannins (6/10) but well integrated. Medium bodied with some anise, spices, dark plums and red ones too. Medium plus to long finish.


Made up of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Marianne Estate Vineyard located in Paarl on the Simonsberg Mountain Range. Aged for around 16 to 22 months in 30% new French oak barrels. Wine is made by Christian Dauriac who has been making wines in Bordeaux for the last three decades, he owns three estates in Bordeaux; Chateau Destieux in St. Emilion, Chateau Montlisse also in St. Emilion and Chateau La Clemence in Pomerol. Michel Rolland is the consultant winemaker at this estate.
