Tasting Note:July 19, 2017

Last of the three wines we received from the All Red Wine Club by WINESTYR.

Deep ruby red with garnet edges. Layered nose with sweet spices, cinnamon, brown sugar, dark fruits, herbs, and a touch of earthiness. More spices than just sweet spices on day two. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Rich mouthfeel with spices, blue berries and smoked pepper. Day two added darker spices, more blue fruits, a touch red with some additional layers of herbs and pepper. Nicely balanced with solid acidity. Long and lingering finish.

Made up of 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah and 3% Counoise from the Glenrose Vineyard in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. Aged for 12 months in neutral French oak barrels. Only 72 cases produced. More details about this winery coming in our post about WINESTYR.
