2013 Sinegal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Estate: Sinegal Estate

Region: St. Helena, Napa Valley, California, United States of America

Tasting Note:August 10, 2016

Super dark ruby red with a purplish core. Strong fruit forward nose with cassis, dark cherries and black berries. Nice amount of baking spices in the undertone as well, with notes of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Lovely velvet-like texture coated in dark cherries, dark cocoa and dark baking spices. Well balanced and great structure. Long and lingering finish. Even their lower level Cabernet is built to age. Give this a long decant or a couple more years in the bottle if you want the tannins to soften out.

This entry level Cabernet Sauvingon, is anything but entry. Made up of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot and aged in 100% new French oak. Ryan Knoth is the winemaker and has worked under expert winemakers such as Michel Rolland and Phillipe Melka. Additionally, Tony Biagi is the consulting winemaker. If you have not tried any of their wines already we highly recommend them.
