2015 Troika Wines Grenache

Tasting Note:May 26, 2018

Medium ruby red with a touch of garnet on the edges. Nose is layered with rhubarb, raspberries, cherries and a little bit of flowers. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus body. More strawberries on the palate and cinnamon. Well integrated with a dry and long finish.


Last winery on day two in Sonoma was Troika Wines with Jeff, Noel and Ari. Next up was their insanely dark Rose from the Split Rock Ranch in Mendocino County made up of 100% Grenache and fermented in neutral French oak barrels.

Tasting Note:November 26, 2016

Medium ruby red. A little savory to start with additional layers of dark raspberries, cloves, lilac and a little cocoa. Moderate tannins (6/10) and very refreshing. Layers on the palate starting off with red fruits and floral notes, nice and lush. Turned a little savory before becoming more fruity. Medium bodied with a slightly dry long finish.
